Why I Created Wedly — And Why the Wedding Industry Deserves Better
The wedding industry is full of incredibly talented people.
Photographers who pour their hearts into preserving memories. Florists creating art at 2am before a wedding day. DJs reading a room like magic. Coordinators carrying the weight of an entire day on their shoulders while making it all look effortless.
But somewhere along the way, the industry became harder for many genuinely talented vendors to break into — not because they lacked skill, professionalism, or heart… but because visibility often started going to whoever could pay the most.
That never sat right with me.
So I created Wedly Weddings.
Not as another “pay-to-play” wedding platform.
Not as another popularity contest.
And not as another place where couples are overwhelmed with sponsored listings they can’t trust.
Wedly was built to be something different.
A Platform Built on Fairness
At its core, Wedly stands for fairness, transparency, and community.
We believe wedding vendors should earn their reputation through:
- Their work
- Their professionalism
- Their consistency
- Their client experience
- Their involvement in the community
—not simply through advertising budgets.
There are so many small business owners in this industry quietly doing incredible work while getting buried beneath larger companies with bigger marketing budgets. Many are husband-and-wife teams, solo creatives, or passionate local businesses trying to support their families while building something meaningful.
Wedly exists to give those businesses a fair chance to be seen.
Visibility Shouldn’t Be Bought
One of the biggest goals behind Wedly is creating a platform where visibility feels earned — not manipulated.
We want couples to feel confident knowing they’re discovering vendors based on:
- Quality
- Trust
- Reputation
- Personality fit
- Community engagement
- Verified professionalism
—not because someone paid the most money to appear first.
That doesn’t mean vendors can’t invest in tools, education, or additional features on Wedly. But those things should never override genuine reputation or trust.
A great vendor should be discoverable because they consistently show up for people.
Community Over Competition
The wedding industry can sometimes feel incredibly isolating.
Many vendors are trying to navigate:
- Burnout
- Financial pressure
- Social media comparison
- Rising costs
- Algorithm changes
- Endless advertising demands
At the same time, there are so many amazing vendors who genuinely want to support each other.
Wedly was created to encourage that side of the industry.
We want this platform to feel like:
- A supportive network
- A trusted resource
- A collaborative space
- A place where vendors can grow together instead of constantly competing against each other
Because the truth is — healthy communities create better experiences for couples too.
When vendors trust each other, communicate well, and collaborate, wedding days become smoother, more joyful, and more meaningful for everyone involved.
Why Verification Matters
Trust matters deeply in weddings.
Couples are investing not only financially, but emotionally. These are once-in-a-lifetime memories. They deserve to feel secure in who they hire.
That’s why Wedly values vendor verification and professionalism.
We want couples to know the vendors they’re connecting with are real businesses who care deeply about their work and clients.
Verification isn’t about exclusivity.
It’s about creating confidence and accountability.
More Than a Marketplace
Wedly isn’t just about bookings.
It’s about creating an industry culture that feels healthier, more transparent, and more human.
A place where:
- New vendors can grow without being crushed by advertising costs
- Experienced vendors can mentor and support others
- Couples can find vendors they genuinely connect with
- Creativity is celebrated
- Community matters
- People feel seen
This platform was born from years of being inside the wedding industry myself — seeing both the beauty of it and the frustrations of it.
I knew there had to be a better way.
The Beginning of Something Bigger
Wedly is still growing.
Still evolving.
Still listening.
And honestly, that’s intentional.
We want this platform to be shaped not just by one voice, but by the community around it — vendors and couples alike.
The goal was never to build the biggest wedding platform.
The goal was to build one people could actually trust.
And if we can help even a few incredible vendors feel more supported, more visible, and more valued while helping couples find genuinely amazing people for one of the most important days of their lives…
then Wedly is already becoming what it was meant to be.
The people I have already met and connected with through our start up and growth has been amazing… I have made so many new connections, real friends and has truly brought me so much joy. Our vendors leave Wedly Vendor Social Events feeling energized, supported, and having made new friends each time. I am really excited to make more connections and build something different for the wedding industry!
